| M/S Museet for Søfart |
Can't you see M/S
Museum of Maritime Studies? Then you are not the first. Because the award-winning,
iconic museum, designed by the world-renowned Danish architect Bjarke Ingels,
lies below the surface of the earth. So take a look!
The museum, designed by Danish star architect Bjarke Ingels, is located in the old dry dock of Helsingør Shipyard, which has thereby been preserved as a historical monument to industrialism.
Elsinore City Walk describes the history of the Sound Customs city, which inspired William Shakespeare to write his most famous play,
Hamlet.
Like pearls on a string, one well-preserved and carefully restored building after another lies in a rectangular, chessboard-like street grid from
Erik of Pomerania - the 15th century. The architectural appearance of the individual houses shows stylistic features from
the 14th - 16th centuries to the present day.
The route tells how the Øresund Customs 400 years ago made Helsingør one of
Europe's and Denmark's leading cities and inspired William Shakespeare to write his most famous play,
Hamlet. , - about H. C. Andersen's upbringing, education and schooling in Helsingør
from 1828 - 1829. - Helsingør's strategic location and importance for
shipping and trade.
